Obituary of Hilary Elizabeth Pylant
Please share a memory of Hilary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Hilary Elizabeth Pylant, 77, passed away on June, 6, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Reynolds; and sisters, Jane Richardson and Pat Cannon. Hilary is survived by her husband, Hugh Pylant; son, Tim Pylant and his wife, Susan; daughter, Terri Corbitt and her husband, Rick; brother, Stephen Reynolds; in laws, Elain Pylant and Frank and Elvie Dehaven; grandchildren, Austin Pylan and his wife, Maddie, Leigh Corbitt, Alexandria Pylant, Erin Corbitt, and Trey Corbitt; and a host of many other family and friends.
Hilary and Hugh met one another on a “blind date”, and the rest is history. They married in Shreveport after a short engagement and have spent the last 57 wonderful years together. They loved playing bridge, socializing and spending fun time together with their life long friends. Over the past 30 years, Hilary and Hugh enjoyed traveling all over the world. Hilary could be found skiing in Aspen or snorkeling in Belize but in the last few years was slowed down to reading her beloved “cat” mysteries and keeping up with the NY Times editorials. Hilary enjoyed her computer and looked forward to keeping in touch with distant friends and family via e-mail. She had a wonderful sense of humor and truly believed that laughter was the best medicine. Hillary was known to all her grandchildren as Nana and cherished all their family time together. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Harish Seethamraju and his lung transplant team at Memorial Hospital staff for all their care and dedication. The family would request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Hilary’s honor to the American Lung Association.
A Memorial Service for Hilary will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 1:00 pm at First United Methodist Church at 2314 Grand Blvd., Pearland, Texas 77581 with Rev. Dr. Bob Joiner officiating. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.claytonfuneralhomes.com.
