Obituary of Donald Herrick Sheets

Donald Herrick Sheets, 85, fought a courageous battle with cancer that ended on July 14, 2011. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Madelyn Sheets; brothers, Robert Sheets, John Sheets, and Rodney Sheets. Don is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Edith Irene Clubley Sheets; sons, Rick Sheets, David Sheets, and Andy Sheets; daughter, Beth Sheets; his special niece, Sherry Sheets Runkle; his beloved dogs and cats; and a host of many other family and friends. Don had a long and successful career with the Ohio Valley Medical Center and retired as the business manager. At the age of 68, Don and his wife, Edith Irene, made a change and sold their home and enjoyed their time with Beth making numerous moves over the past seventeen years, being together and seeing different parts of the country. Don has been an animal lover all his life, bringing home strays of every kind. They enjoyed all their pets and traveling and visiting family. Don was a proud American and a Purple Heart recipient during the Korean War.
