Wanda Elaine Averitt, 67, passed away on October 16, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Alice Kinsfather, her loving husband, James Averitt. Wanda is survived by her son, Edwin Averitt and his wife, Nancy; daughters, Alicia Preston and Renee Osborne; brothers, Ronnie Kinsfather and his wife, Kaye, Randy Kinsfather and his wife, Nancy; sister, Brenda Heil and her husband, Don; grandchildren, David Hopkins, Samantha Preston, Mandy Morgan, Erica Preston, Bryce Morgan, and Brandon Osborne; and a host of many other family and friends. Wanda was a native Houstonian that graduated from M. B. Smiley High School. After receiving her Nursing Degree, Wanda stayed in Houston and worked for St. Joseph Hospital for 7 years. She and James started a rubber stamp manufacturing company and were happily married for 46 years. Wanda especially enjoyed working in her yard, gardening and feeding the birds. She was active in the Aldine-Westfield Crime Watch serving as their secretary and hosting the annual National Night Out for the neighborhood. Wanda loved cooking for her family and getting together to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A visitation for Wanda will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 9:00 am at Believers Fellowship Church at 21603 Rhodes, Spring, Texas 77388 with the Funeral Service beginning at 10:00 am with Pastor Joe Arms officiating. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 pm at Brookside Cemetery.
