Obituary of Charles Richmond Gough

Charles Richmond Gough, age 89, passed away on June 20, 2008. He is survived by his daughter, Diane Simpson & her husband Richard; sons, David Gough, Dennis Gough, & Paul Gough. He is preceded in death by his wife, Veryle Mary “Burton” Gough and his parents, William B. & Mary Pearl (Jepson) Gough. Charles was born in 1918 in Waupaca County, Wisconsin. He resided in the Houston area for the past 52 years. He proudly served the United States in the Army and Coast Guard during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He was also a Merchant Marine and worked for many years as 2nd Engineer for Lykes Lines. Charles was involved in many organizations including the International Treasure Hunting Society, American Legion Post 560, and was a charter member for many years in the MEBA Union. He was a hard worker and good provider for his family. He loved to joke with his family and in his spare time dabbled in the stock market. Charles was able to retire at age 62 to enjoy rv’ing and traveling with his wife and grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held for Charles at a later date. He will be interred in New London, Wisconsin.
