Obituary of Sylvia Gomez

Sylvia Gomez, 86, passed away on October 31, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Rose Belle; and her loving husband of more than 65 years, Neville C. Gomez. Sylvia is survived by her children, Merle Fleming and her husband, Osbert, Linda Saddington, Errol Caballero and his wife, Gloria, Lystra Toyloy, Annette Gomez, Karl Gomez, Lynette Gomez, Jennifer Gomez, Deborah Gomez, and Ray Gomez; brother, James Batson; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and four great, great, grandchildren; as well as a host of many other family and friends. Sylvia made her family her number one priority her entire life and was always willing to do for others without any expectations in return. She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed any opportunity for them to get together. She was affectionately known to her children as “Mummy” and to her grandchildren as “Mama.” Her love for her family was unconditional and she will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A Visitation for Sylvia will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home with Reverend Carl James Courville of St. Helen Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pearland.
