David Paul Brown II, age 74 of Houston, lost his hard fought battle with Leukemia on June 26, 2008. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; sons, David Paul Brown III & his wife Carmen Rosa, Dennis Brown & his wife Sharon, Douglas Brown & his wife Michelle, and William Brown & his wife Verna; daughters, Diana Richardson & her husband Thomas, Doloras Compton & her husband Garry, Diana Green & her husband Roger and Natalie Gutierrez & her husband Roly. (17) Grandchildren Kelly, Shawn, Ryan, Crystal, Geoffrey, April, Brodie, Katie, Joshua, Nycki, Naomi, Neva, Dustin, Jamie, Chris, Amy and Rjay; (5) Great Grandchildren Trent, Charlyee, Bailyee, Emily and Bailey; He is preceded in death by his parents, David Paul & Madeline Brown. David was born in New York, New York in 1934. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in the 1950s where he was a radio operator in Korea. David had many careers throughout his life. He was a regional district manager for Kmart where he worked for many years. David was also a stockbroker for a period of time and later became an investment banker for Blinder-Robinson. He especially loved the sea and traveling and served as a Merchant Marine twice in his life and even called a boat his home on several occasions. David resided in the Houston area over the past five years but also divided his time between Costa Rica and Central America. He was happiest in his later years after reconnecting with his children and becoming closer to his entire family. He also gained a stronger faith and had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. David and Mary shared thirteen joyful years of marriage. Mary was always by David’s side during his illness and his family is grateful for her love and devotion to their father. A committal service for David will be held on Monday, June 30, 2008, at 10:30 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, 77038, 281-447-8686.
