Obituary of Freddy Martinez

Freddy Martinez, 54, passed away on December 2, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a brave battle with cancer. Freddy is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Linda Martinez; sons, Freddy Martinez II and his wife Veronica, Nicholas Martinez; daughters, Amanda Marroquin and her husband, Carlos, and Tammy Martinez; his mother, Hellen Martinez; brothers, Lorenzo and Richard Martinez; sisters, Rosie Flores and her husband, Robert, Sabina Morris and her husband, Jerry, Teresa Lacombe and her husband, James, Pauline Martinez, Hellen Perales and her husband, Andy, Ruthy Partain and her husband, John; grandchildren, Alex, Dylan, Mya, and Destiny Martinez; and a host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Hugh Gene O’Brian and his beloved father, Rufus Martinez. Freddy was self employed and a successful contractor, he enjoyed running and operating a tractor. He loved coaching, playing ball and spending time with his family. Freddy loved life and was always up for a good adventure. His great sense of humor can only be matched by his adoration for his children and grandkids that affectionately referred to him as Grandpa. He was truly unique and one of a kind. Freddy will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A visitation for Freddy will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2011 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home with interment to follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin. Pallbearers: Freddy Martinez II, Nick Martinez, Carlos Marroquin, William O’Brian, James Buckalew, Charles Buckalew, Lorenzo Martinez and Richard Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers: Alex Martinez, Dylan Martinez, Erik Martinez, John Partain, Thurman Puckett and Juan DeLeon.
