Obituary of Ismael Oscar Rivera

Ismael Oscar Rivera, 65, passed away at home on January 16, 2012 surrounded by his loving family, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Delia Rivera. Oscar is survived by his adoring wife and they have been together for 31 years, Virginia; sons, Ismael Rivera Jr., Carlos Rivera; stepsons, LeeRoy Ramirez, Joe, Leo, Tommy and Johnny Marin; daughters, Angelique Rivera and Velia Rivera; brother, George Rivera; sister, Lucy Rivera; twenty two grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great grandchildren on the way; and a host of other family and friends. Oscar was an avid sports fan that loved following Pearland Oiler Football and his beloved Dallas Cowboys. “Grandpa” as he was affectionately known to his grandchildren always looked forward to spending time with his family. He loved spoiling his grandkids and great grandkids with sweets and then sending them home. Oscar had a long career as a baker for Randall’s Grocery. He will forever be missed by all that knew and loved him. A Visitation for Oscar will be held on Friday, January 20, 2012 beginning at 6:00 pm and a Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581.
