Obituary of Doris Ann Sigler

Doris Ann Sigler, 65, passed away on February 6, 2012. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorris and Anne Johnson; and husband, Larry Sigler. Doris is survived by her sons, Russell Peveto and wife, Kim, Brent Peveto and wife, Jennifer, Paul Peveto; daughter, Melissa Garner, and husband, Bryan; brothers, Elroyce Johnson, McNeil Johnson and wife, Sarah; sisters, Eloise Willis and husband, Jerry, Linda Dillard and husband, Charlie; twelve grandchildren; and her beloved and faithful dog, Gizzy; as well as a host of other family and friends. Doris moved to the Houston area in 1970, single with four children and no job. With the love and support of her brothers and sisters, she went to work for Continental Can to provide for her kids and stayed employed there for 37 years. While working for Continental Can, Doris met her husband of 34 years, Larry. They raised the family together and she was a devoted mother to her children. Doris loved her Saturdays at JoAnn’s Beauty Shop getting her hair done and then shopping and going to lunch with her good friend Beverly Downs. She was affectionately known as Memaw to her grandchildren and cherished any opportunity she had to go out to dinner, family get-togethers and especially holidays. Doris was looking forward to moving into a new house that she had been designing and having built that was next door to the house she had raised her family in for the past 34 years. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A visitation for Doris will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 11:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Pope officiating.
