Obituary of Crystal Amanda Whetzel

Crystal Amanda Whetzel, 29, passed away on February 7, 2012. She is survived her father, Ronald Simmons; mother, Karen Hammonds Blakely and husband, Paul; her loving husband of three years, Andy Whetzel; sons, Gavin and Bo Whetzel; brother, Nick Simmons and wife, Amanda, Jacob Simmons, and wife, Carrisa; sister, Tracy Blakely; grandparents, Billy and Betty Hammonds, and Linda Blakely; great grandmother, Bessie Babb; and a host of other family and friends. Crystal was a 2000 graduate of Pearland High School. She balanced a busy schedule between working on her nursing degree at Southwest Texas Junior College and taking care of her two boys. Crystal was a devoted and loving mother, wife and daughter. She and Andy had known one another for 13 years and been married for 3 years. Crystal always loved family gatherings during the holidays or anytime they could get together. Her giving spirit continued throughout her life and even into death as she gave the gift of life to others through organ donation. Crystal will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A visitation for Crystal will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 beginning at 12:00 noon at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will follow beginning at 2:00 pm with Pastor Steven Lee of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will take place at Alvin Cemetery.
