Obituary of Kathryn Marie Huckabay

Kathryn Marie Huckabay, 72, passed away on March 8, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mildred Bass, brother, Clarence Bass Jr., and sister, Jeanette Tebo. Kathryn is survived by her husband of 54 years, Don Huckabay; daughters, Janna Ponder and husband, Roger, Kim Koza and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Travis, Tyler and Taylor Ponder, Collin and Nicole Koza; and a host of other family and friends. Kathryn was born in Childress, Texas and moved to Amarillo in the fifth grade. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1957. Kathryn and Don made their home in Corpus Christi for over 30 years before coming to Pearland. Affectionately known as “Granny” to her grandchildren, she loved to read, travel and spend time outdoors at the lakehouse with her family. Kathryn will forever be remembered for her loving care and devotion to her family. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Yvonne Belote, Bernadette Beauchamp and Patricia Martinez for their diligent care and support. A visitation for Kathryn will be held on Tuesday March 13, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 14, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Clayton Funeral Home with Dr. Keith Whitaker of First United Methodist Church, Pearland officiating.
