Obituary of Samuel Austin Harkins
Please share a memory of Samuel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Samuel Austin Harkins, 27, passed away on April 29, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife, Brittany Harkins; parents, Sam and Elyse Harkins; sister, Brandi Lynne Harkins; grandparents, Claude Harkins, Frank and Nancy Thompson; in-laws, Rob and Janna Brodt; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Sam was a graduate of Pearland High School and was a devoted LSU fan. He was a Construction Estimator for Turner Industries and had been employed with them part time and full time for more than eight years. Being a construction engineer, Brittany said that Sam had a spreadsheet for everything. Whether it was a project in the yard or cooking for his family and friends; he would create a spreadsheet to make sure everything turned out perfect. Sam enjoyed the outdoors and hunting with his dad at their deer lease. Even though they weren’t close in age, Sam loved to play and hang out with his little sister Brandi. He was especially known for his Cajun skills as a crawfish peeler and could peel them and eat them faster than anyone. Sam and Brittany had a large library of movies and enjoyed watching them and spending time together. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A visitation for Sam will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11:00 at Friendswood United Methodist Church, 110 N. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas 77546 with Pastor Jim Bass officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
