Obituary of Barbara Baptiste Cole

Barbara Batiste Cole, 64, passed away on June 24, 2012. She is preceded in death by her parents, Theo and Carrie Batiste; husband, Michael Cole; four brothers and a sister. Barbara is survived by her sons, Julian Cole and wife, Michelle, Chad Small; daughter, Michele Cole and boyfriend, FurMond Murphy; brothers, Allen, Huey, Herman and Fedrick Batiste; grandchildren, Kierra, Mikal and Jahne Cole, and Jeankamy and Jolie Jenkins; as well as a host of other family and friends. Barbara was a very kind-hearted person that would give you anything she had as she was always thinking of others. She enjoyed cooking all her life, especially for family gatherings. Barbara was strong in her faith and loved God. She lost her husband at a young age but was still an excellent provider and role model for her entire family. She loved her grandchildren and was affectionately known as “Nana” to all of them. Barbara loved watching all of her programs on tv. Barbara and her sister were very close throughout their lives and felt a great loss at her passing. The family finds comfort in knowing that a great reunion is taking place with her parents, husband, brothers and sister. Barbara will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4600 Reed Road, Houston, TX 77061 with Father Joseph Benjamin officiating. Following the service, interment will take place at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
