Obituary of Vester Ray Bell

Vester Ray Bell, 65, passed away on June 30, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, Freeman Bell and Linda Ray Woods; and brother, Richard Lee Bell. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine “Geri” Bell; sons, David Ray Bell, Randy Lee Bell and his wife, Sandra; sister, Rhonda Bell; grandchildren Joanne and Shawn Bell; and a host of other family and friends. Ray loved the outdoors fishing and hunting his entire life. His fondest memories were of spending time with his family fishing. Ray was a successful business owner of B&J Drafting for more than 39 years. He was a dedicated member of the Pearland Elks Lodge for many years. Ray was always a kind and generous person that would gladly help anyone in need. Ray and Geri loved to travel and enjoyed their trips to Hawaii and Alaska. He even tried skydiving at 63 with his niece and nephew on their 30th birthdays. Ray will forever be remembered for his signature phrase wherever he went, “I’m here to spread Joy and Cheer.” He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A Celebration of Life for Ray will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Pearland Area Elk’s Lodge No. 2732 at 2834 Wagon Trail, Pearland, TX 77584.
