Obituary of Lawrence A. Alderman

Lawrence A. “L.A.” Alderman, 82, passed away on August 10, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Myra Alderman; brother, Lee Roy Alderman; and sister, Susan Carter. L.A. is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Charlene “Charlie” Alderman; sons, Lawrence Alderman, Douglas Alderman and wife, Cheryl, Scott Alderman and wife, Mary; daughter, Susan Alderman; brother, Clark Douglas Alderman and wife, Gloria; sister, Billie Maude Alderman; grandchildren, Michael, Timothy and Sean Alderman, Antron Stephens; great grandchildren, Axandria, Reese and Joseph David Alderman; and a host of other family and friends. L.A.was a proud U.S. veteran who served for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He enlisted at 16 in the Army Air Corp during World War II. L.A. also served during the Korean conflict, Cuban Missile Crisis, and the Vietnam War. He was very gifted with his hands as well as his mind, understanding formulas and all types of calculations. L.A. enjoyed building three of the homes that he lived in. He enjoyed golf, chess, scuba diving and sailing on his boat “Gypsy Wind”. L.A. even enjoyed racing her on the weekends. He was a Christian that was recently baptized by Pastor Jon and gave his life to Christ. L.A. and Charlie had a wonderful life together and he was a great husband, father and provider to his family. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A Memorial Service for L.A. will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 6:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Pastor Jon Salminen of Epiphany Lutheran Church officiating.
