Obituary of Juan Garcia

Juan Garcia, 88, passed away on August 16, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, Severo and Juanita Garcia; brother, Cressenciano Velasquez; and sister, Librada Perez. Juan is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Celiamar Garcia; son, Juan Garcia and his wife, Loela; daughter, Margarita Cantu and her husband, Lucio; sisters, Ofelia Rios, Natividad Hernandez; grandchildren Jasmyn Cantu, Alexander F. Garcia, Christopher R. Garcia, and Arlene Garcia; great grandson, Miguel Angel Ibarra; and a host of other family and friends. Juan was a dedicated father who worked very hard to provide for his family. He always encouraged his children and grandchildren to get their education, even though he had to leave school early to help his family. Juan felt education was so important that he found time to get a tutor to help him learn to read. He used that education to read his favorite book, The Bible. Juan heard the gospel in California in 1969 and made his choice of walking in God’s way in 1970. He was truly a man of great faith and will be missed by all that knew and loved him. A visitation for Juan will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service for Juan will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
