Obituary of Estefana C. Benavides

Estefana C. Benavides, 82, passed away on November 9, 2012. She is preceded in death by her parents, Criselio and Eva Cardenas; her loving husband of 30 years, Benito Benavides; and daughter, Juana Argelia. Estefana is survived by her son, Lamberto Benavides; daughters, Maria Bell, Laura Guajardo, Sara De Haro, and Rosa Villarreal; brothers, Jesus Cardenas-Jasso, Feliciano, Andres, Jesus, Arsenio and Alejandro Cardenas; sisters, Carlota Alfaro, and Magdalena Cardenas; twenty-one grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Estefana loved to cook and take care of all of her family and even helped in raising some of her grandchildren. She enjoyed good health all of her life and still enjoyed being active, whether jogging around the yard, riding on the back of motorcycles or keeping up with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Estefana was affectionately known as “Abuelita” to all of her grandchildren. She enjoyed her garden where she had planted fruits, vegetables and many flowers. Estefana was truly adventurous and will forever be remembered for her happy disposition and her humming and singing. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. The visitation for Estefana will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 6:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 11:00 am with interment to follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
