Obituary of Jerry Don Byrd

Jerry Don Byrd, 58, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Madeline Byrd. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Brenda Byrd; sons, Gregg Byrd and wife, Crystal, Jeremy Byrd; daughter, Nicci Gutierrez and husband, Joe; brother, Woody Byrd, sister, Louise Warnick and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Destany, Hailey and Jared Byrd, Alexandria and Zachary Gutierrez; and a host of other family and friends. Jerry was a very hard working man and great provider for his family. He worked at the same plant for 37 years, beginning by sweeping floors and finishing his career in corporate management. Jerry had an excellent sense of humor and loved to pick on give people nicknames. In his spare time, Jerry loved spending time with his family playing cards or dominos. He and Brenda enjoyed many trips in their suburban to Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, or Cloud Croft, New Mexico. Jerry always put his family first and was affectionately known to his grandkids as Pa Pa. He had a kind heart but didn’t necessarily want people to know that. He will forever be remembered for taking in all the stray kids and friends of his children. Jerry will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A Memorial Service for Jerry will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating.
