Obituary of Joyce Allyne McGuff

Joyce Allyne McGuff, 74, a longtime Pearland resident, passed away Friday, December 21, 2012. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Jewel Deisch; and sister, Faye Creech. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Jack McGuff Jr.; children, Jack McGuff III, and his wife, Lyn, Jill McGuff, and Jon McGuff and his wife, Helena; sister, Charla Williamson; grandchildren, Erin, Megan, Jay, Caley McGuff, and Emily Averkiades; and a host of other family and friends. Joyce dedicated her life to her husband Jack and supported him and their architectural business along with raising their three children and supporting all of their various activities. She coached Jill’s softball team and taught her children to water ski and snow ski. Joyce was a charter member of Pearland Neighborhood Center and a member of the Lioness Club of Pearland. She was affectionately known as “Mimi” to her five wonderful grandchildren that were the light of her life. Just as she had with her children, she was active in all of her grandchildren’s activities. Joyce was constantly active and enjoyed gardening, going to the beach house, playing golf and bridge. She will forever be remembered for her love of bubble gum. Joyce cherished every opportunity she had to spend time with her family and was proud of the legacy she had help create. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. The visitation for Joyce will take place on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 10:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
