Valentina Pisklivaya, 57, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Anna Lubar; and her brother, Vladimir Lubar. Valentina is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Michael Pisklivyy; daughters, Nataliya Magruder and husband, Dan, Svetalina Escobedo and husband, Nick; sisters, Raisa Bubela and husband, George, Nina Raevskaya and husband, Leonid; grandchildren, Angelina Escobedo and David and Daniel Magruder; her New Hope Family and a host of other family and friends. Valentina had a very strong faith in God and even through adversities and struggles with her illness, she always made a point to pray for others. She was a very hard working person her entire life. Valentina was a strong prayer warrior and inspired those around her with her positive attitude and caring nature. “Grandma Valentina,” as she was affectionately known to her grandchildren was very wise and always had the best advice for family members. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. The visitation and funeral service for valentine will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at New Hope Church, 3640 County Road 58, Manvel, TX 77578. The visitation will begin at 9:00 am and the funeral service will follow starting at 10:00 am with Pastor Tim Liston officiating. Interment will follow at Alvin Confederate Cemetery.
