Obituary of Helen Katherine Ferri

Helen Katherine Ferri, 88, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Martin; her loving husband, Baptist Ferri; brothers, William and Joe Martin, and sisters, Annie Duval, Mary Christensen, and Deckla Halik. Helen is survived by sons, Joe Ferri, Vincent Ferri and wife, Kathy; daughter, Cathryne Drummond; sisters, Agnes Sojack and Bertha May Curmmel; grandchildren, Mary and Roger Roby, Michelle and Tim Gray, Angela and Ryan Phillips, Tommy and Kacie Lawler, Joe Mike Ferri, Robert Ferri, and Sylvia George; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and a host of other family and friends. Helen was a resident of Pearland for 67 years and worked for Pearland ISD from 1968 until 1989, cooking for thousands of Pearland children. She was an active and life-long member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church. Helen seemed to know everyone in Pearland and never went anywhere that she didn’t see someone she knew. She never missed a week that she didn’t go to Wal-Mart to just walk. Helen will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Vitas Hospice for their compassionate love and care for Helen. A visitation for Helen will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. The Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd., Pearland, TX 77581. Interment will follow at SouthPark Resurrection Cemetery.
