Nalois Ellis Gresham, 97, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, Laban and Elender (Gieger) Ellis; her beloved husband, Roy Kimble Gresham; siblings, Prudence M., James P., Zelphia A., Donie E., Beatrice B., Clara V., Margaret A., Milton A., Lila M., Grace I., William L. (W.L.) and Woodrow W. Nalois is survived by her daughters, Rona E. Wells and husband, Richard, Carol L. Mintz and husband, Philip; grandchildren, David M. Wells and wife, Rachel, Roy K. Wells, and wife, Tandi, Laura E. Carter and husband, James; great grandchildren, Caleb, Claire, Lila, Inez, and Kaylin; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Nalois was born in Todd, Texas on June 11, 1915 and grew up in Palacios, Texas, Little Rock, Arkansas and Atlanta, Georgia. She and her husband, Roy, were long-time residents of Cleveland, Texas Nalois was an avid genealogist and family historian. She had a sharp mind and could remember names, numbers and many obscure facts. Nalois was a talented homemaker, loved gardening and truly had a green thumb. She came from a large family and was very close to all of her brothers and sisters and loved them dearly. Nalois was affectionately known as “GiGi” to her great-grandchildren and will be forever remembered for never having an unkind word to say about anyone. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nalois’ honor to the Wycliffe Bible Translators, P.O. A visitation for Nalois will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. The graveside service will take place at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery in Cleveland, Texas at 11:00 am on Friday, February 8, 2013 with Pastor Steve Daily officiating.
