I was saddened to read of Tudy’s passing; although she lived a very long, full life. My father and Tudy worked together back in the 1950’s at Anchor Petroleum in Tulsa. She and Bill (my age) were very dear friends of our family, often going to the lake with us, boating and fishing. Tudy visited my parents in the 1990’s in Clearwater, Florida and they all had a wonderful time. The last time I saw Tudy and Bill was at my parents lakehouse on Grand Lake in the late 1970’s. It was a great visit.
I talked with Tudy several times over the past 10-15 years; many long wonderfully reminiscing conversations. Tudy just happened to call me on March 6, 2004 as I was walking into my mother’s hospital room in Tulsa. She had the same sweet voice I always remember, never seeming to age at all. We thought Mom was improving, but she didn’t feel like talking on the phone just then. I’ll never forget what Tudy said; “Make that last putt, Elinor!!” So hilarious; I have told that story many times. My Mom died about 2 hours later and when I called Tudy back that day to tell her, she said “Hooray! She finally graduated!”
It was a privilege to know Tudy and Bill; now they are reunited again and basking in the glory of the Lord.
