Obituary of Jerry Leon Groce

Jerry Leon Groce, 56, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Gertrude Groce. Jerry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Glenda Groce; son, Jerrid Lee Groce and wife, Patricia; daughter, Amey Richards and husband, Kirk; brothers, Gary Groce and wife, JoLynn, Tom Groce and wife, Darla; sisters, Joan Zabawa and Gayle Mordente; grandchildren, Sean Herrington, Noah Richards and Olivia Richards; and a host of other family and friends. Jerry was a hard-working and dedicated worker that was committed to his job and his employees. He was a good provider and role model for his family. He was affectionately known to his family and grandkids as “Pappy.” At one time he loved restoring antique cars. He especially enjoyed relaxing in his recliner and spending time with his family. Jerry and Glenda celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in San Antonio. He always wanted to make sure that Glenda had all she ever wanted and they were truly devoted to one another. Jerry will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A visitation for Jerry will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 2:30 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest park east Cemetery in Webster, Texas.
