Obituary of Marjorie Dee McElya

Marjorie Dee McElya, 92, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Juanita Hornback; her loving husband of 55 years, Fred Herbert McElya; and son, Richard McElya. Margie is survived by her sons, John McElya and wife, Susan, Bill McElya and wife, Judy, Robert McElya and wife, Millie; brother, Ted Hornback, sister, Barbara Kosper; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Margie had a very successful catering business for more than 25 years, but especially enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Her life was all about her children and grandchildren and was affectionately known as “Granny” to all of them. Margie attributes part of her longevity to starting every day with a Coca Cola. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A funeral service for Margie will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 10:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Rev. Dr. Bob Joiner officiating.
