James Sidney "Jim" Riley, a longtime resident of Pearland, died peacefully at his home on Monday, November 13, 2006 from complications of diabetes. Jim was born April 24, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late James Sidney and Mary Carolyn (Eby) Riley. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from Ada Resources with over 40 years of service. Jim was an avid motorcyclist and was a member of the "Retreads"; truly enjoying the company of his many wonderful friends. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Doris Jean Markey. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Jim is survived by a loving family; his beloved wife of 47 years, Margaret; children, Kimberly Armstrong and husband, Charlie and Karen Riley Campbell; three grandchildren, Austin Michael and Sydney Nicole Armstrong and James Riley Campbell; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, in Pearland. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at 1 PM Thursday, November 16, 2006, in the Chapel of Clayton Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Cole officiating. Jim's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of FMC Dialysis Center of Pearland, AMed Community Hospice and to all the dear friends and family who helped during his illness.
