Jim was a proud patriot that served in the United States army during Vietnam. He was truly a man that you wanted on your side. Jim had a quiet but confident demeanor and was known for physical and mental strength. He was extremely good with his hands and gladly accepted the challenge of fixing things when friends and family needed assistance. Jim was the type of man that actually enjoyed working and keeping himself busy. He enjoyed maintaining and cleaning his motorcycles and cars as well as racing his Ford Mustang. Jim loved football and always looked forward to rooting for his favorite team the Houston Texans. Jim was also very determined when there was a challenge set before him. He took lessons for several years to learn to dance and eventually became an accomplished ballroom and country western dancer. Jim was affectionately known as “PaPa” to his grandchildren and he was their biggest fan. He was involved in all of their sports and activities and was always on the sidelines cheering them on. Jim and his love, “Nettie” were happily together for over 18 years and cherished spending time together with their family. He will forever be remembered for “old school cowboy” demeanor, his fondness for John Wayne westerns and his devotion to family. Jim will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
