Estelle “Lee” Ward, age 92 of Pearland, passed away on July 24, 2009. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Matilda (Hutchcraft) Williams; husbands, Delbert Carlton and Robert D. Ward; and son, Thomas C. Carlton. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Parker & her husband Dean; step-daughters Pam Wadlin & her husband Father John and Diane Cox; grandchildren, Kathy Parker Campbell, Debbie Parker Frees, Deana Parker Cady, Brian Carlton, Chad Carlton, Billy Monfort, Stacy Dailey, Erin Cox, & Kelly Moore and many great-grandchildren and several great, great-grandchildren; and a host of many other family members and friends.
Estelle “Lee” was born on February 8, 1917 in Thompsonville, Illinois and but spent most of her life in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. She came to Pearland in 2002 after spending about twenty years in Florida. Lee was a devoted mother who looked forward to spending time with her family. Throughout her life, she loved to travel, golf, and play bridge. She loved life and being around people and had a wonderful sense of humor. Lee volunteered at the hospital in her spare time and enjoyed walking. She was very fortunate to be blessed with good health for most of her life. Lee will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pearland and a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Vernon.
