Virgil Coy Elliott, 82, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Maudie Elliott; his wife of 62 years, Grace Elliott; and by eleven brothers and sisters. Virgil is survived by sons, Michael C. Elliott and wife, Brenda, Randall Anthony Elliott and wife, Christina, Lonnie Elliott and wife, Suzanne; daughters, Sandra Kay Elliott Dreiling and husband, Richard, Carol Marie Elliott Cernosek and husband, James; grandchildren, Michaelynn Dreiling Vandiver, Shawna Dreiling Loyd, Christopher M. Elliott, Taryn Elliott Little, Coy H. Elliott, Tiffany Elliott Bowlin, Jeffrey B. Elliott, Lendsey Elliott, Blake Cernosek, Sarah Elliott, Maggie Elliott, and Christopher Cernosek and great grandchildren, Zachary Watson, Shannon Elliott, Avery Elliott, Brandon Watson, Jackson Loyd, Kaylin Elliott, Madison Vandiver, Emma Rose Loyd, Colton Elliott, Bryson Bowlin, Harper Little, Kaiya Vandiver and Ryker Coy Elliott; and a host of other family and friends. Virgil loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and camping with his family. He and the family enjoyed their many “Griswold Family Vacations” to Disneyland, Yellowstone, Pikes Peak, Washington D.C., Knott’s Berry Farm and Marineland of the Pacific. Virgil was an excellent provider, a role model and loving husband and Daddy to his family. He had an innovative and mechanical aptitude towards projects and enjoyed working with his hands. Virgil was very proficient as a carpenter, plumber, electrician and welder. He enjoyed rebuilding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and taking afternoon naps. He loved old-time country music and dancing at the “dance halls” with Grace. Virgil was supportive to all of his children and assisted them in their many endeavors. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CF Spencer Lodge, 4614 Walnut, Pearland, Texas 77581. A visitation and funeral service for Virgil will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and the funeral service will follow beginning at 2:30 pm with Rev. Dr. Bob Joiner officiating. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
