Edwin “Ed” Frank Matusek, 80, of Pearland, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 22, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Bernice Kramr Matusek; his son Mark D. Matusek and his wife Susan; daughters, Brenda L. Speer and Sandra Matejka and her husband Doug; brother, Ben Matusek; sisters Lydia Matusek and Viola Dworaczyk; grandchildren, Jason, Ryan, Alden and Morgan Marie Speer, Nathan Matusek, Tyler and Colton Matejka; great grandchild, Dorian Speer; niece, Abigail Beene and a host of other family and friends.
Ed received his degree from Texas A&M University. He was a proud veteran that served his country in the United States Army. Ed worked at Bayer Corp. in Baytown for 37 years before retiring. He then went to work for CPI in Pearland before retiring again after 10 years. Ed loved to fish and hunt and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus.

The visitation will be on Tuesday September 24, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. The Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Road, Pearland, Texas 77581. Father James Courville officiating. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery
