The celebration of Kathy’s life at her Memorial Service in Peace Presbyterian Church was so meaningful and such a tribute to her from friends and family – her life was a blessing to all that came in contact her!

Kathy was my gentle giant. She was an inspiration and an example of what a Godly woman should be. Kathy loved her church and her church family at Peace, and we at Peace will miss her so much. She was a pillar in the church, and we feel a little weak right now without her. She will be missed so much, as there is a “Kathy sized” hole in my heart. I absolutely rejoice for Kathy, as she is finally singing her praise music face to face with Jesus. Heaven needed just one more pianist!

I just can’t believe Kathy is gone. I’m so accustomed to seeing her out walking in the mornings with her friends and their dogs in our Country Place neighborhood. I often would wave and drive past on my bike and we’d have a brief conversation. Kathy did the kindest, most thoughtful thing for me recently when she gave me a gift certificate for a massage right after I finished my treatments for breast cancer. I will never forget it. I will also never forget the day four of us spent in Galveston shortly before Ike devastated the area. We had such a good time and Kathy was so happy. I will cherish these memories for many years to come.
Kathy and I first met when we were both singing in the chancel choir at First Presbyterian Church of Houston. We were happy to find we both lived at Country Place and knew many of the same people. She was so very happy and so at peace at Peace (Presbyterian)! It was a joy to hear her share the latest news from Peace and to see her passion for its mission. My one regret is not getting Kathy to hear the First Presbyterian Chancel Choir in concert. She wanted to hear that music one more time and I promised I’d call her. We just ran out of time.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, her family, as you grieve her untimely departure. I have lost a dear friend and will always cherish the memories of the good times we had.

To the family of Ms. Kathy,
I miss Ms. Kathy as much as you do! I loved how Ms. Kathy taught piano to my brother and me, and I hope she’s having a great time in Heaven. We are also sad that she is not with us anymore, but we will be able to make it through this tough time, knowing that she loved us very much.
Love,
Olivia, age 10
