Obituary of Travis Leon Cheatwood

Travis Leon Cheatwood, 73, of Pearland, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, October 28, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mattie Iola Cheatwood; parents by love, J.D. and Georgia Ellen Cheatwood; mother and father-in-law, Jimmy and Louise Snider; brothers, Lee Cheatwood, Clovis Cheatwood, Loyd Cheatwood, Leonard Cheatwood. Travis is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carla Cheatwood; son, Mike Cheatwood and wife, Yvette; daughter, Cindy Coronado and husband, Homer; brothers, Alton and Merl Cheatwood; sisters, Ila Mauldin and Faye Mack; grandchildren, Nathan and Jared Coronado, Derek, Brooke and Meghan Cheatwood; and a host of other family and friends.
Travis graduated from Phillips High School in Phillips, Texas. He was a proud veteran that served his country in the United States Army in Europe and Heidelberg, Germany. Travis worked for over 30 years in the Information Technology field. His favorite hobbies were spending time with his grandchildren, watching their many sports and activities, gardening, collecting antiques and wood working. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A visitation and funeral service for Travis will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Travis’ brother-in-law, Pastor Allen Gregory officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.
