Obituary of Doring R. Demen

Doring R. Demen, 87 of Pearland, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Juana Recato; and her loving husband of 69 years, Timoteo P. Demen. Doring is survived by her sons, Roger Demen and wife, Juliet, Junior Demen and wife, Lara, Rolly Demen and wife, Ruth, Obet Demen and wife, Ally, Romy Demen and wife, Rocha, Ruben Demen and wife, Fannie; daughters, Edith Zaldivar and husband, Nando, Nida Menn, Salve Demen, Edna de la Cruz, and husband, Romy, Eden Sanchez and husband, Patrick; sister, Pacita Azuran; twenty-five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mamang, as she was affectionately known to her family, loved to cook; especially her “lumpia” (eggrolls) and “turon” (fried wrapped bananas). She was an excellent seamstress and took pride in her family. She could remember the birthdates of all of her children and grandchildren and bragged to everyone about her wonderful grandchildren. Mamang was a very nurturing woman and took care of her late husband to the last day. She cherished spending time with her family and celebrated any opportunity they had to be together. Mamang loved to play Bingo, until the last day of her life. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A visitation and rosary for Doring will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm with the Rosary recited at 6:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral mass will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 6502 County Road 48, Manvel, Texas 77578 with Father Tom Ponzini officiating. Interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
