Obituary of Archie Fredrick Quast

Archie Frederick Quast, 86, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014, three days before his 87th birthday. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Emma Quast; son, James Quast; grandson, Aaron Kurtz; three brothers and one sister. Archie is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Norma Jean Cook Quast; son, Bill Quast and wife, Marian; daughters, Debra Welsh and husband, Noel, Becky Kurtz and husband, Frank, Susie Quast Walker; sisters, Lillian Thielemann, Dorothy Duschinski; ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Archie was an excellent provider for his family and worked as a machinist with Texas Petro-Chemical for 42 years. He was strong in his faith and a great supporter of his Baptist church. Archie served for many years as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. He was active in his community as a Scoutmaster and President of the PTA. Archie served his country proudly in the United States Navy. His family was his life. He enjoyed camping with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, attending all their sports activities and working alongside his family in their restaurant. Pappaw extended a helping hand to all in need. He was a caring and loving man and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A visitation for Archie will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Chaplain Dan Danford officiating. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
