Obituary of Robert James Murphy

Robert “Bob” James Murphy, 69, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sarah O’Brien. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Rose Murphy; son, Chris Murphy and wife, Janie; daughters, Valarie and Sarah Murphy; brothers, Charles and Michael O’Brien; sisters, Patricia Gereg and Sheila Fisher; and a host of other family and friends. Bob was a very good man that provided for his family and had a successful career as a Human Resource Director for Powell Industries for over 25 years. He was warm and genuine with everyone he met at work or with his family. After he and Rose married, he took a special interest in his new family and even worked with family at Powell Industries. Bob and Rose enjoyed going on cruises, traveling on vacations and having a wonderful time together. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. The family will be receiving friends on Friday evening, March 28, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm with a Memorial Service that will begin at 7:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating.
