Obituary of Ramona Huckabee

Ramona Huckabee, 84, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, T.E. and Linnie Bradley; brother, S.B. Bradley; and sister, Bonnie White. Ramona is survived by her adoring husband of 57 years, Charles Huckabee; sons, Chuck Huckabee and wife, Laurie, Mike Huckabee and wife, Sarah; grandchildren, Kyle and Lexie Huckabee; and a host of other family and friends. Ramona worked for 23 years for the Pearland ISD. As a child growing up during the depression, she learned to be very frugal and thrifty. She was a great seamstress in her younger years and loved to cook the turkey and dressing for the family holiday meals. Ramona was strong in her faith and a member of Pearland Church of Christ. She and Charles enjoyed traveling to Lake Tahoe, her trips to the casino to play the slots for fun and their many family gatherings at the lake house when their sons were young. Ramona cherished spending time with her family and her beloved grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ramona’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org/donate. The visitation for Ramona will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 10:00 am with D.C. Brown officiating and Rayford Welch assisting. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
