Obituary of Ruby Florence Williams

Ruby Florence Williams, 99, passed away on Saturday, June 21. 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Hattie Robinson; her loving husband, Ernest Vernon Williams; and sons, Billy Frank Williams and Ernest Williams Jr. Florence is survived by son, Patrick Wayne Williams; daughter, Ernestine Neal and her husband, Curtis; brother, Frank Robinson; sister, Letha Robinson; ten grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, twenty-seven great great grandchildren, and six great great great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Florence had a strong faith and was active in her church. She felt it was very important to always give back to her community and was a member of Eastern Star and a volunteer at M.D. Anderson Hospital. Florence was very stern and strict with her children as they were growing up to make sure they were good students and citizens. She was plain spoken whether you agreed with her or not but you always knew where she stood on important issues. Florence loved gardening and taking care of her vegetable garden and flower beds. She was affectionately known as Grandma Williams and leaves behind a large legacy to her many grandkids, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and great great great grandchildren. Florence will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A visitation for Florence will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating. Private interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
