Obituary of Dorothy Joe

Dorothy Joe, 65 passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wiley George and Dorothy Louise Mathis; and sister, Wanda Gale Phillips. Dorothy is survived by her son, Larry D. Joe; daughter, Mandi Michelle Joe; brother, Wiley George Mathis III; sister, Edna Ann Mathis; grandchildren, Macy Lynn and Lauryn Marie Joe; and a host of other family and friends. Dorothy loved music. She could always be found listening to Blake Shelton and her favorite Elvis songs. Dorothy had a huge heart and was a devoted and supportive mom to her children throughout their lives. She enjoyed watching her favorite television shows and taking the occasional trip to Las Vegas. Dorothy was always available to help her friends and family in need. She cherished spending time with her friends and family and was affectionately known as “Mama Joe” to her friends and “Grandma” to her granddaughters. Dorothy will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A visitation for Dorothy will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 3:00 until 5:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
