Karen “Katie” W. Kilmer, 70, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Helene Woglom. Katie is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Larry Kilmer; sons, Brian Kilmer and Jonathan Rust; daughter, Lindy Kilmer; stepdaughters, Becky Gamlem and Robin Davidson; brother, Bill Woglom; nephews, Mark and Kurt Woglom; grandchildren, Sebastian, Zachary, Kristen, Nathan, Tyler, Stephanie, Amy, Josh, Austin and Loni; and a host of other family and friends.
Katie was adventurous, loved the outdoors and even served as Alaska’s first female game warden. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to start many different endeavors throughout the years. She opened a yarn shop, a take-out restaurant, a deposition company and a feed & grain store. At the age of 50 she went back to school and learned computer programming at Boston University. Katie was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, loved puzzles, magazines, crosswords, Sudoku, and especially playing card games with her family. Katie will forever be remembered for her love of animals, gardening and exploring the country on her many road trips. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
A visitation and funeral service for Katie will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 am with the funeral service following at 11:00 am with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating.
