Please share a memory of Walter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Walter Toll Jr., 81, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Erna Toll; daughter, Pamela Jean Soliz; brothers, Eldon and Elloyd Toll. Walter is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Deanna Toll; sons, Walter “Bud” Toll III and wife, Glenda, Jack Wallace Toll; step son, John Brem; twelve grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Walter was an avid sports fan that loved following college and professional football. His favorite teams were Alabama and Texas A & M. Walter was widely known for his grilling expertise, whether he was cooking hamburgers or steaks. He even had his own “famous” Bar-B-Que sauce that he made himself. His first language was German until he started school and started speaking English in first grade. Growing up during the depression on a farm, Walter learned at a very young age to work hard. He carried that strong work ethic throughout his life and had a successful career in the elevator industry which afforded him and his family many things he did not have when he was growing up. Walter was truly a Southern gentleman who put his wife, “Miss D” and his family first. He cherished family get togethers and always looked forward to Christmas Eve with the grandchildren. Walter will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walter’s honor to the SPCA or to any animal rescue of your choice.
