Ollie was an excellent homemaker, a wonderful cook and a loving and caring mother to her family. She was strong in her faith and a lifelong Lutheran belonging to Ascension Lutheran Church and later, Epiphany Lutheran Church in Pearland. Raising her family with Christian values was important to her.
She celebrated her Czech heritage and belonged to SPJST Lodge 88 where they met lifelong friends, danced and listened to Czech music. She enjoyed entertaining whether it was at home for family and friends, or company functions. She was very supportive and helpful to Ned in their successful Industrial Tooling business.
As a young woman, Ollie was very athletic and played basketball in school, even serving as the team captain. She continued to follow basketball throughout her life and enjoyed pro games and college games on television. Ollie enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers and was awarded “Yard of the Month” on several occasions.
She was married to “Ned” for 69 years before he passed away in 2010. As a couple, they enjoyed spending their spare time at their farm raising cattle, or at their beach house entertaining family and friends.
