Obituary of Carol Bordelon

Carol Bordelon passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Carol was born October 30, 1940 in Harlan, Iowa to the late Cletus and Anita Zimmerman. She graduated in 1958 from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel High School. A resident of Pearland, Texas for 35 years, Carol was a member of the Pearland Republican Women, Catholic Daughters of the Americas – Court St. Helen # 2330, and was a devout parishioner of the community of St. Helen in Pearland. She was a member of the Adult choir and volunteered her time and efforts helping with the church's annual Bazaar, the Arts and Environment Council, the Hospitality Committee and with Funeral Ministry. Carol was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed sewing slipcovers for all types of furniture. Her favorite activities involved taking care of her family, making Christmas cookies and Easter eggs with her grandchildren, attending their school and sporting events, and mostly being a wise, loving and understanding grandmother for them. Carol loved her husband and children, providing counsel through their difficulties and rejoicing in their accomplishments. Her gentleness, graciousness and compassion will be forever missed by all who knew her. Carol is survived by a loving family; her loving husband Darvin Bordelon; her children, Kevin Bordelon and his wife Carla, Cathy Sharp and her husband Bill, and Bruce Bordelon and his wife Susan. She will continue to watch over her grandchildren; Michael, Brian, Meagan, Emily, Traci, Sutter, Kyle and David. She will be remembered with love by her siblings, Bernice Vorheis, JoAnn O'Neil and Cletus Zimmerman. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a wake service following at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 19, 2006, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Road, in Pearland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 20, 2006, at St. Helen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, in Pearland.
