Hope you are relaxing and enjoying yourself up there, Ed. The workaday world is still the same giant ant colony it has been since you left to take your place among the angels. I have missed you and I want to keep working to make a positive difference for our community members who have struggled with substance use and mental health disorders in honor of you and others who have left us recently. I hope I can do you proud and continue the legacy of progress again stigma and unnecessary suffering that you guys have left in our hands. Thankful & Grateful that you stopped to rest in the Houston area for a time.
Sandy

I am floored to see the notice for the first time this morning of Ed Mehollin's passing. I knew Ed from his involvement with our Behavioral Health Coalition. I was always comfortable around Ed. He made people feel that way. I enjoyed his being at our monthly meetings and I was wondering what he was up to now, but didn't take the time to be proactive and reach out. This is something I am learning as I grow older. I need to reach out to people that I care about and check in with them periodically if I haven't heard from them directly or through others, at a minimum. I gave Ed a stapler once, because he had admired an easy-to-use, one-finger type stapler I had found for myself. He was helping to put handout packets together for one of our meetings. I rushed right out and got him a stapler just like the one I had, because I knew he would like it! He acted like I had given him a golden nugget! He was so appreciative. I've been missing him and now I know I have to connect on a soul level hereafter. Rest in peace and joy, Ed.

Gail, Amy, and Sean. I am so very sorry for your loss. I'm in shock. I just found out about Ed's passing. He was a Wonderful Man, and I had the privilege of knowing him and working with him in Mississippi. He loved his work, but first and foremost he was a Proud Family Man and spoke of you often.

I knew Ed through the NET. He was very helpful when I set up a dinner for the NET and throughout the years even giving a presentation on stress during the holidays. He was a good friend. I have missed him and will continue to do so.

I came down to Texas when I was 63. I talked to Ed a few times at the Net meetings. I was not having much success getting started as a private practitioner. He gave me several good ideas and was always positive and encouraging. I was in the process of figuring out how much practice I wanted, so I didn't use every idea. I'm sure he wondered why. ButI was grateful for his support

I had the honor of working with Ed at The Oaks years ago and had reconnected with him the last couple of years. He was always so positive and personable. He taught me a lot and I will always think of him as a mentor and friend!
