Obituary of William Jeremy Wickel
William Jeremy “Willie” Wickel, 53, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018. Left to cherish Willie’s memory are his parents, Jerry and Jolene Wickel; his loving wife of 25 years, Julie Wickel; sister, Karen Wickel; mother-in-law, Jewel Jarrell; sisters-in law, Nonnie Jarrell, Sherill Packebush and husband, Paul; Godson, Conner Packebush; his beloved English bulldogs, Maggie & Frankie; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Willie was the Drum Major his senior year at LaPorte High School, Class of ’82. He graduated from Texas A&M with a double major in Business and Accounting. He owned Claws & Paws Veterinary Hospital with his wife. Willie was extremely strong in his faith and his love for God. He enjoyed riding motorcycles as a member and past president of CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association) in Pearland, Christ’s Riders. Willie also loved music and played both the guitar and the drums. He even sang when he was by himself. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Italy. Willie was a hero to his family and the best big brother his sister could ask for. His wife was his best friend, his entire world, and he did not like to be apart from her. Spending time with his wife and his dogs, who were his babies, was his favorite thing to do. He was fiercely loyal and protective of his loved ones. Willie loved people, his church family, his CMA family, his Claws & Paws family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family requests either flowers or donations may be made in Willie’s honor to New Hope Church.
