I don't have words to express the depth of my sadness at my dearest friend's passing. I'll always remember her kind, caring ways, her contagious smile, and her limitless need to help others even at her own expense. I'll miss repeating conversations for friends at lunch because Dana couldn't hear too well! And I'll miss our shopping sprees when she could always find a sale! I know she's in God's loving arms now and she'll be with me always. Peace to all her family and friends as we will always have her in our hearts.

I am one of Dana’s people. That’s what she called you. And once you became one of Dana’s people, you were always Dana’s people. That meant she cared about you, she looked out for you, she took care of you, and she watched your back.
I met Dana in 1990 when I was working for McDonnell Douglas on the Space Station Freedom Program. At that time Dana was a single mom raising two kids. She loved her kids. She loved her family. Dana loved her job. She loved her co-workers. She loved helping people. She loved animals. She loved to have a good time. She was a loving person – full of love.
Many years ago when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, some well-meaning people who I thought were friends, drifted away, as if I was contagious – as if they could catch cancer from me. But not Dana. When she found out, she called me right away and took me to lunch. Over the restaurant table she looked right into my face and said to me, “I love you. I will be with you.” And she was. She accompanied me to doctor’s appointments. She had me covered.
I am one of Dana’s people. And once you’re Dana’s people, you’re always Dana’s people. Thank you for always watching my back, Dana. I love you too, you old rebel. I hope you will continue to be my guardian angel.
