Dana Francene Gober
April 10, 1958 - May 22, 2014
Dana Francene Gober, 56, passed away in her sleep on May 22, 2014 in Seabrook, Texas. She was born April 10, 1958, in Midland, Texas, to Grace and David Gober, and she was an amazing woman who will be greatly missed. When given the choice between a paved road or a dirt path, she blazed a new trail just left of center. One of her greatest joys in life was to help others, especially family, and she never hesitated to provide loving support in forms ranging from cheerleader to drill sergeant. As an Administrative Assistant for McDonnell Douglas, later to merge with Boeing, she contributed to the International Space Station project, about which she was extremely passionate. All who knew her relied on her to save the day, often at the last minute, with flair and quick wit, and her love for her family knew no bounds.
Dana is preceded in death by her younger sister, Rhonda Gale Gober. She is survived by her faithful and loving husband, John “Andy” Wilbarger, her daughter, Cheryl Sandison Voskamp, her son, David Stuart Sandison, her step-daughter, Nikki Ovens, her parents, Grace and David Gober, her older sister, Jana Wylene Gober Zimmerman, and her much beloved nieces and nephew, along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who meant the world to her.
Visitation will start at 1:00pm Sunday May 25, 2014 with services to follow at 2:00pm in the Chapel at Paul U. Lee.
