Jack Arnold Hensley August 08, 1933 - April 28, 2010 HENSLEY Jack Arnold Hensley, 76, of La Porte passed away at home with his family at his side on Wednesday April 28, 2010. He was born August 8, 1933 in Marion, North Carolina to Edith Melinda Lamb and William Donald Hensley. Jack was a member of Knights Templar of Texas Park Place #106, Arabia Shrine Temple of Houston, Baytown Shrine Club, 50 year 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and Marine Square Club of Houston. He was also a 50year member of the La Porte Masonic Lodge #857, Master in 1970-71, and a recipient of the Golden Trowel Award. He worked for Johnson Space Center and received the Snoopy Award for Achievement in 1991. He also volunteered as a driver for the Galveston Shrine Burn Hospital for 15 years, which he said was the “best job he ever had.” Jack was also a faithful member of the South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena. He loved his God and country. He was a friend to everyone. He was caring, humorous, reliable, and enjoyed playing games with his friends. Jack is preceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Sharon Hensley, children Jay Hensley and Gina Tubbs of Frankston, TX, Sandy and Steve Brittingham of Flint, TX, Lori Hensley of Marion, NC, Gary and Connie Paschal of Hurst, TX, Brad and Heather Paschal of La Porte, TX, Step Mother Lorraine Hensley of Marion, N.C.,grandchildren Ashley and John Aquino, Robin Hensley, Kyle and Brandi Correll, Kale Correll, Sarah Paschal, Morgan Williams, Duncan Delaney, 5 Great Grandchildren, and siblings William L. Hensley and Glenna, Donald Bruce Hensley, Doris Stephens, Jeannie Ferguson. Visitation will be held Friday April 30, 2010 from 6-8PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Saturday May 1, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home chapel as well with Dr Ron Lyles officiating. In lieu of usual remembrances donations may be made to the Shrine Burn Hospital in Galveston at http://support.shrinershospitals.org/goto/JackHensley.
