How long have we known you and Florine? For me, Cathy, it was before I was born!! My parents (Rex and Odessa Carlile) are gone, also, but it seems ya’ll had such sweet fellowship as young couples, and as you both grew older. A nice example to see. You were a “staple”, a “pillar”, as Charles and I grew up, married, and you were our first Elder!! Charles was already in your meeting, but now, I had left the only perfect elder (in my eyes) I had for years, my dad, and went on to the FIRST of many elders. And what did I find? Another perfect elder!! Not many can be placed on the same shelf as my dear dad, but you, Paul, were easily put there without thought. Now, as a parent, I realize how my parents must have felt – to safely see their daughter in the hands of a wise and Godly man. I’ve mentioned to you, of late, the thankfulness of having a word in season, being the elder that was laid out in Timothy, because there were specific times you gently tapped me back on track, encouraged me and without a doubt, prayed for me. These last years, it was so hard to watch you in pain, weak, and physically needy. Your gratefulness towards Johnny helped, seeing that gleam in your eye to get home “Johnny is coming over today”. That was even a help to us – I felt so helpless, my time of any usefulness has seemed to end. And even though there may be 40 yrs difference, you have worried, understood, and teared up regarding my pain, understanding with me “so young”!! And, yet…I couldn’t see how you could take your physical afflictions at your age!! No matter, your soft spirit was gracious, and when it was hard to be thankful, you just worked harder at it. A few tears shed together over just a small comment of frustration that kept us back from where we wanted to be in the kingdom….a silent understanding between us of what others knew nothing of. What comfort. You had the support of a wonderful family and those that loved you in your Godly family. This is what helped you take those exta steps, push on-ward, and see the prize. Oh, dear Man of God, you will be missed, but we are glad you are Home. Life is a gift from God, only for a season, then our maker, the one who loves us, HOPES we choose to live with Him forever. Thank you for using your “gift of life” to serve God, because that is the meaning of life. We appreciate your example.
… ’til we meet again….. Charles & CATHY Turner

We would love for any of the family/friends to drop by for a visit!! Johnny, there is a Sunday afternoon in our home, also!! It would be a pleasure to visit anytime, or meet somewhere. If I’m having a bad day – then maybe you can “rescue” Charles!!
Although our life has stunted our ‘travels’, it has increased the pleasure of those who are able to drop by.
