Johnny was always such a wonderful friend. I remember fondly the singing sessions Where he would play his quitar and Jeannie Wier, Dorothy Hutson, Barbara Morris and I would sing for hours. These are cherished memories. We will continue to pray for Marilyn and all his family God's comfort and blessings.

We love John so much at Fisher Road Baptist Church. He was my Sunday School teacher for several years and I learned so much. One thing he taught us is that, as Christians, we will never be sinless here on earth, but as we grow in Christ we will sin less and less. John was just such a wonderful person and friend. He will be sorely missed by all of us. Such a humble, faithful servant of Christ.

There are no words to help during this difficult time. I'm sure he's playing music with those who have gone before. Lord Have Mercy and Please Provide Comfort for John's Family and Friends.

I remember a young John, a man who loved to laugh and just enjoyed life. A fond memory is about the streets of Mexia.” The streets of Mexia are like a man with his snuff, you go a block and take a dip. Go a bloke and take a dip.” To this day if I drive down a road in Mexia I think of John and his ability to take an ordinary thing and make a fun experience of it.
My deepest sympathies to all the family at this time. May God richly bless you with peace and comfort.
With much love, Connie Roberts Blackmon

We loved our Uncle John! He always greeted us with open arms no matter the visit. He would sign or say anything to put a smile on your face. I treasure our political and spiritual conversation on which we agreed on everything. I love the memories you gave me and I never will forget you!!! You were the sweetest and most gentle uncle and your presence will be missed.

John was a cherished brother, always so loving and kind. He helped everyone any way he could, including me. We had a special bond and would speak "Pig Latin" to each other. After watching a certain movie together, he would always greet me with open arms and the greeting of that movie.
In the early 70's we watched "Hallelujah Trail", and Donald Pleasence would see a vision and say, "Ah, now I see it." Until his passing, John and I would still repeat that phrase when we saw something clearly. I had already started writing his 80th Birthday Poem, as I have written poems for many others. I had titled it "Ah, Now I See It". The last verse was going to read...
Your Bible is open twenty-four/seven.
You know only in "part" when you read it.
But, when you walk through the gates of Heaven,
You will smile and say, "Ah, now I see it."
In loving memory of my dear brother, John Calvin Hambrick

Uncle John is one of the finest men to ever walk this Earth. He will be missed by countless friends and family. But we can rest assured that we will see him again in Heaven for eternity. And there will be no pain or suffering there.

So many memories of dear Uncle John
Surprise visits, full of fun, and always bringing
the sweetness of music. Playing everything we requested.
Soft spoken and gentle... he came in quietly and seemed
as reluctant to go as we were to see him go.
Now all treasured pieces of my heart.
Rest well, sweet music man.
