Leonard “Dwight” Bittick passed away Friday, April 17, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Born, September 27, 1940, the fourth of six sons, in Shelby County, Texas, he was 79 years old.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents Albert Elijah and Elizabeth Waller Bittick and his brothers Gene, Guy, Garland and Richard. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Cecelia, brother Sammy Bittick, children Steve Daniel, Ann Jones, Guy David Bittick, and numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all.
Dwight’s family moved to Pearland in 1952 where he attended and graduated from Pearland High School in 1959. He was a Class Officer and member of both the basketball and football teams and maintained contact with many of his classmates. The Pearland Historical Society was one of his greatest passions, serving on several committees and performing research on Pearland history and family genealogy.
A dedicated employee of Schlumberger for over 30 years, Dwight retired in 1992.
